Second Hong Kong Library Festival brings diverse reading experiences (with photos)
**********************************************************************************
In collaboration with different units and reading partners, the festival will organise various events featuring four sections: "Light and Shadow", "Innovative World", "Variety Show on Stage", and "Living with Books" in the Hong Kong Central Library, other public libraries and the thematic website. Through these creative activities, readers can appreciate cross-disciplinary arts and literature pieces.
The festival will partner with "ReNew Vision", an art platform organised by the LCSD's Festivals Office, to present the multimedia artwork "It All Begins with a Word". Inspired by pieces from renowned local writers, different artists and creators will present the artwork through moving images and dance, allowing the readers to experience a multifaceted reading experience on social media and the project website.
Other highlighted activities include "Tour Around 18 Districts: Storytelling by Author", where the convener of "Dream Reading Scheme" Dr Alan Lam and story ambassadors of the HKPL will tell stories behind each of the districts, and "Meet the Author", with children's book author Rachel Ip sharing her interesting stories as a writer. "Puppet Show" presents different kinds of puppets to participants, while "Online Reading Clubs" will be hosted by writers Zhuo Ying and Yau Yan-ni.
All activities of the Hong Kong Library Festival are free of charge, while seat reservations are required for some events. Details are available on the HKPL's thematic website (www.hkpl.gov.hk/hklibfest), "Reading is Joyful" Facebook page (www.facebook.com/readingisjoyful) and Instagram page (www.instagram.com/readingisjoyful).
In view of the latest situation of COVID-19, the HKPL will implement special arrangements and precautionary measures. For details, please visit www.hkpl.gov.hk/en/index.html.
