Temporary traffic arrangements for tram track renewal works in Eastern District from this Friday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (August 8) reminded the public that to facilitate tram track renewal work, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented in the vicinity of Eastern District from about 10am this Friday (August 11) to 10am on August 18 (Friday) or until the above work is completed:

(a) Lane closure

     A section of the offside lane of Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound near Aldrich Bay Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic (except trams).

(b) Temporary restricted zones

     The following road sections will be temporarily designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:

(i) A section of the northern kerbside lane of Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound near Aldrich Bay Road;
(ii) A section of the southern kerbside lane of Aldrich Bay Road near Shau Kei Wan Road; and
(iii) A section of the northern kerbside lane of Sun Sing Street near Shau Kei Wan Road.

     Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on-site to guide motorists. The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures when necessary. Members of the public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
