SLW to visit Cambodia

The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr Law Chi-kwong, will depart tomorrow afternoon (August 9) for a three-day visit to Cambodia. The Commissioner for Labour, Mr Carlson Chan, will also join the visit.
While in Cambodia, Dr Law will meet the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia, Dr Ith Samheng. He will also call on the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr Xiong Bo, and attend a gala dinner co-organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore and the Hong Kong Business Association of Cambodia in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Dr Law will also meet with representatives of authorised employment agencies, non-governmental organisations, associations and trade unions to exchange views on assisting nationals of Cambodia to come to work in Hong Kong as domestic helpers, and pay visits to the training facilities of the employment agencies.
Dr Law and Mr Chan will return to Hong Kong on Friday night (August 11). During Dr Law's absence, the Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Caspar Tsui, will act as Secretary for Labour and Welfare.
