     At the Hospital Authority (HA) Administrative and Operational Meeting today (June 22), the HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, was joined by Board Members for a vote of thanks to the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man.

     "Dr Ko has safeguarded public health and the well-being of Hong Kong people amid his full support for the work of the HA in the past five years. Dr Ko has led us through many formidable challenges and we are grateful to him for the unceasing support and wish him all the best in his new endeavours," Professor Leong said.

     Professor Leong also welcomed the appointment of Professor Sophia Chan as the Secretary for Food and Health from July 1.

     "We have been working closely with Professor Chan while she has served as the Under Secretary for Food and Health over the past five years. With her wealth of knowledge and experience in healthcare services, I am confident that she will lead the continuous development of the HA in meeting the various challenges ahead and provide reliable and quality public hospital services for the people of Hong Kong," Professor Leong added.
