SEN to visit Mexico City and Los Angeles

The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will depart for Mexico City, Mexico, tomorrow morning (November 29) to attend the C40 Mayors Summit 2016, which will bring together urban leaders to advance urban solutions to climate change. He will make use of the opportunity to visit Los Angeles, the United States, to find out more about the sustainable development and environmental management there.
During the three-day C40 Mayors Summit to be held from November 30 to December 2 (Mexico City time), Mr Wong will attend the C40 Steering Committee Meeting and take part in various sessions of the Summit. Among these, he will speak on energy saving at the session "Less is More: Energy, Buildings and our Urban Future".
After finishing the programmes of the Summit, Mr Wong will make use of the opportunity to visit Los Angeles on December 4 and 5 (Los Angeles time) to meet with senior officials of Los Angeles responsible for sustainable development and visit the Los Angeles Environmental Learning Center to understand more about sustainable water and solid resources management in Los Angeles.
Mr Wong will conclude his visit in the afternoon on December 5 (Los Angeles time) and will arrive in Hong Kong in the morning on December 7.
