North Lantau Highway speed limit to be temporarily reduced from November 1

The Transport Department announced today (October 28) that the speed limit will be temporarily reduced along the westbound side of the North Lantau Highway between Pak Mong and Tung Chung from November 1 (Tuesday) to June 30, 2017 to facilitate construction of the Hong Kong Link Road - Section between Scenic Hill and the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities.

Effective from midnight on November 1, the speed limit along the westbound carriageway of the North Lantau Highway from a point about 300 metres east of its junction with Airport Road to about 2 500 metres east of the same junction will be reduced from 110 kilometres per hour to 80 km/h in order to enhance the safety of road users and workers. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.
