Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected cocaine at airport

The woman arrived at Hong Kong from Manila, the Philippines, last night. During Customs clearance, 37 packets of hair care products were found inside her check-in baggage. Upon thorough examination, a total weight of about 3.33kg of suspected cocaine was found inside the packets of hair care products.
The arrested woman, aged 30, who claimed to be a hair stylist, was charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. She will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (September 6).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
