"Montage Express" community cinema to promote art in the city (with photos)
***************************************************************
Oi! has been transformed into a "Montage Express" community cinema running from now until January 2 next year to screen a series of works produced by film directors and filmmakers of the new generation. The programme aims to promote local film productions and showcase how cinematic arts connect with daily lives by presenting moving images in the community.
The "Montage Express" programme is organised by Oi! with six collaborators from the film and art industries, namely Ying E Chi, Rooftop Institute, ifva, Autonomous Cinema, Interlocutor and Interact_Arts.
During the programme period, Oi! will serve as a community cinema. Each collaborator will present a three-week screening programme with a different focus to explore contemporary issues through diverse perspectives. Art practitioners who work with moving images will share their views through unfolding dialogues and interactions with the public. Admission is free. Limited seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Oi! is located at 12 Oil Street, North Point, Hong Kong. For details, please visit Oi!'s website at www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/Museum/APO/en_US/web/apo/montage_express.html or call 2512 3000.
