Piano Recital by Murray Perahia

The poetic pianist Murray Perahia will make a welcome return to Hong Kong in October, after his acclaimed performance with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields in 2014. In more than 40 years of performing on the concert stage, Perahia has become one of the most sought after and cherished pianists of our time, performing in all of the major international music centres and with every leading orchestra. The Grammy and Gramophone award winner will perform works by Haydn, Mozart, Brahms and Beethoven.
Les Vents Français

Les Vents Français, a wind ensemble that carries on and celebrates the French spirit, focuses on presenting rarely performed masterpieces. The six members are virtuosi in their own right. The programme includes Poulenc's "Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano" and "Sextet", Saint-Saëns' "Caprice sur des airs Danois et Russes", and Hersant's "Sextet" written for Les Vents Franý˙ais (Hong Kong premiere).
Ensemble intercontemporain

Founded in 1976, Ensemble intercontemporain is one of the world's most revered ensembles specialising in music of our time and is the first permanent ensemble of its type. In this long-due Hong Kong début, Ensemble intercontemporain will perform Schoenberg's revolutionary "Chamber Symphony No. 1", Boulez's "Mémoriale", Donatoni's "Tema", Ligeti's "Chamber Concerto", Mantovani's "Les Danses interrompues", Pintscher's "Whirling Tissue of Light" and Hong Kong composer Charles Kwong's "Lachrymae", which was selected after the call-for-scores activity held earlier.
Cello Recital by Mischa Maisky

One of the best-known living cellists, Mischa Maisky has enjoyed distinctive recognition globally with his passionate and sensual performances. His recordings have been awarded the Grand Prix du Disque in Paris as well as the Echo Deutscher Schallplattenpreis three times. In the Hong Kong recital focusing on exquisite French cello music, Maisky will perform with his pianist daughter Lily music of Debussy, Franck, Fauré and more, with some of the music arranged on his own.
"Shakespeare in Love" by the English Concert

The English Concert has an unsurpassed reputation for its inspiring performances of baroque and classical music, renowned for its passion, sophistication and technical mastery. In the welcome return to Hong Kong with its artistic director and harpsichordist Harry Bicket, soprano Mary Bevan and counter-tenor Tim Mead, the orchestra will perform, along with "The Fairy Queen" and "Giulio Cesare", contemporary songs and instrumental music by Purcell, Locke and others, all of whom fell under the spell of the inspirational Shakespeare.
