Hong Kong Customs detects suspected case of smuggling electronic products at Shenzhen Bay Control Point (with photos)

Customs officers intercepted an outgoing seven-seater vehicle for Customs clearance at Shenzhen Bay Control Point yesterday. During inspection, officers found the electronic products concealed under the floor of the middle row passenger seats of the vehicle. The 35-year-old male driver and the 30-year-old female passenger were arrested. They were charged with attempting to export unmanifested cargo and will appear at Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (July 29).
Under the Import and Export Ordinance, the maximum penalty for attempting to export unmanifested cargo is a fine of $2 million and imprisonment for seven years.
