Hospital Authority announces senior appointments (with photos)

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesman today (July 28) announced the following senior appointments:
Dr Libby Lee Ha-yun will take up the post of Director (Strategy and Planning) from November 1, succeeding Dr Lo Su-vui upon his appointment as Cluster Chief Executive (New Territories East).
Dr Lee is an anaesthesiologist and practitioner in administrative medicine by background. She is currently the Chief Manager (Strategy, Service Planning and Knowledge Management) at the HA Head Office, a position she has held since March 2011. Prior to this, she served as Chief Manager (Patient Safety and Risk Management) in the Quality and Safety Division.
In her current position, she possesses a solid track record of enhancing the governance and administrative structure for strategic, annual and clinical service planning. Through her efforts, the transparency of the planning system and participation of stakeholders were greatly enhanced. She has also led the formulation of various strategic service frameworks for priority clinical areas, such as elderly care, mental health, coronary heart disease and rehabilitation, which has supported the HA in delivering a modern, high-quality health system that responds to patients' needs and choices. Dr Lee deputised as Director (Strategy and Planning) from January to June 2014 and was seconded to take up the role of Hospital Chief Executive of Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital from May to December 2015. During her term as Hospital Chief Executive, she successfully led the hospital through the hospital accreditation and started the hospital refurbishment capital project.
With effect from August 1, Dr Deacons Yeung Tai-kong will take up the post of Hospital Chief Executive for both Pok Oi Hospital (POH) and Tin Shui Wai Hospital (TSWH). The grouping of the two hospitals has earlier been endorsed by the HA Board upon a review of the profiles of existing hospitals.
Dr Yeung is a specialist in radiology by medical profession. He is currently the Hospital Chief Executive of POH. He possesses years of corporate and cluster hospital management experience. In his current role, he has successfully launched the emergency operating theatre services to support emergency services of the surgical stream in POH as well as the priming to commission the new TSWH.
The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, congratulated Dr Lee and Dr Yeung on their new appointments and wished them every success in taking up the new posts.
