Million Hope Industries Limited and Ah D Transportation Company Limited were fined $30,000 and $90,000 respectively at Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts today (July 25) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on February 22, 2014, at a construction site in Tuen Mun. The telescopic boom of a truck-mounted crane suddenly detached and dropped down and struck a worker working in the vicinity to death.
