British e-commerce consultancy sets up regional office in Hong Kong

British e-commerce consultancy Practicology opened a regional office in Hong Kong today (June 15) as a launch pad to gain access to the Mainland market and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Hong Kong office will offer clients holistic packages through various online channels such as strategic consulting, business internationalisation, data and customer relationship management, business analytics, digital marketing, conversion rate optimisation, wireframing, design and more, according to Practicology's Country Manager, Greater China, Mr Arthur Cheung.

He said, "We have seen an increasing demand for practical e-commerce and multichannel consulting services among Mainland companies. As many global and Mainland retailers already have presence in Hong Kong, it is important for us to follow their footprint to expand our client base here so that we can provide them better services."

"Hong Kong is at the doorstep of Mainland China, which is a unique locational advantage. Its workforce is also well versed with international and Mainland business practices and perspectives. The city is an ideal hub for establishing our team to oversee Greater China business as well as the region in general. We are also planning to establish our presence in Shanghai, and later in India, to strengthen our regional service team."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Dr Jimmy Chiang, said, "Hong Kong has the world-class telecommunications infrastructure and connectivity that attracts e-commerce and e-marketing businesses. While the retail industry is seeing a gradual shift to the use of e-commerce channels, I see great opportunities for leading consultants like Practicology to ride on this growing trend in Hong Kong and the region."
