The Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing (Beijing Office) launched a roving exhibition entitled the "Belt and Road Initiative - Joining Hands for Mutual Benefits" in Tianjin today (April 15).

The roving exhibition showcases how Hong Kong, through pursuing the policy of "What the country needs, what Hong Kong is good at", can contribute to the successful implementation and sustainable development of the country's Belt and Road Initiative, bringing mutual benefits to both sides.

From today until April 19, the roving exhibition will be staged at the Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Centre in Tianjin, a major venue of the China · Tianjin Investment and Trade Fair & the PECC International Trade and Investment Fair, the largest annual trade event of the municipality.

The Deputy Director of the Beijing Office, Miss Winnie So, said at the trade fair today that the National 13th Five-Year Plan spelled out clearly that Hong Kong should leverage its unique advantages to enhance its role and function in the Mainland's economic development and opening up to other countries, as well as taking part in its two-way opening up and in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The exhibition highlights the unique advantages of Hong Kong in the finance, trade, transportation, logistics, professional and legal services sectors. These advantages can complement the Mainland's "Go Global" strategy, and entrench Hong Kong's position as the "super-connector" between the Mainland and the economies along the Belt and Road routes.

The design of this year's exhibition was inspired by the night view of Hong Kong. Through the designer's creative ingenuity, the exhibition booth has been turned into an illuminated city with dazzling colours. Visitors to the exhibition booth will find themselves immersed in a vibrant and colourful night scene of a metropolitan Hong Kong.

The exhibition is enriched with two interactive games, namely, the Capture the Awesome Moments photo-taking game and the Hospitable City quiz, both of which will help raise visitors' appreciation of Hong Kong's landmark architecture and tourist attractions. There are also publicity materials and souvenirs for free collection by visitors.

After Tianjin, the roving exhibition will tour various cities including Harbin (Heilongjiang province), Tangshan (Hebei province), Lanzhou (Gansu province), Hohhot (Inner Mongolia autonomous region), Dalian (Liaoning province) and Changchun (Jilin province).
