The exhibition "The 6th Artists in the Neighbourhood Scheme: North Point Dream Properties Limited" is being held at Oi! from today (April 15) to July 17. It enables visitors, through an art perspective, to look into the housing problem in Hong Kong and get to know more about the North Point community.
One of the selected proposals of the 6th Artists in the Neighbourhood Scheme, this thematic exhibition on the local housing problem aims to let the participants, through art, learn about the community of North Point and get a feel for the area, just as they would when carefully hunting for a dream property. The exhibition is curated by the project curator Mr John Wong and the project team "In the Wanderland", including artists Clarie Ko, Edmond Wong and Marco Yau.
The exhibition is divided into different sections and is presented in the form of a show flat for a new property. The video installation "Le Grandview de North Point" and three installations, namely "Rashomon Royale", "Big Gui Garden" and "1 Luka Hill Road", help to reflect the relationship between housing and living for Hong Kong people, and allow visitors to experience the values and culture of living in the past and the present.

The Artists in the Neighbourhood Scheme under the Art Promotion Office supports local artists to go into the community and promote visual arts. The works of about 200 artists have been showcased in different communities since the launch of the programme in 2000. In addition, to promote local art in the communities, the scheme emphasises the connection between contemporary art, local historical culture and humanity through the mutual creative process by the artists and local communities, which turns art and aesthetics into indispensable aspects of our daily lives.
