The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Clement Cheung, continued his visit to Singapore today (March 4).
Mr Cheung called on Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Civil Service, Mr Teo Chee Hean. They exchanged views on the management and training of civil servants.
In the afternoon, Mr Cheung visited the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and met the Dean, Professor Kishore Mahbubani. Mr Cheung was briefed on the various management and training programmes offered by the school, which aims to educate the next generation of government leaders of Asia and the world.
Mr Cheung also toured Punggol Eco-town to learn more about sustainable urban planning in Singapore. The Eco-town is the first eco-friendly public housing precinct in Singapore which supports sustainable town development through effective energy, water and waste management.
In the evening, Mr Cheung met with Hong Kong people living and working in Singapore. He updated them on the latest developments in Hong Kong and encouraged them to contribute to a closer relationship between Hong Kong and Singapore.
Mr Cheung will return to Hong Kong tomorrow (March 5).
