No Drug and No Drink Driving Bus Parade to be held tomorrow

The following is issued on behalf of the Road Safety Council:

     The Road Safety Council (RSC) and Traffic Kowloon West of the Hong Kong Police Force will jointly hold the No Drug and No Drink Driving Bus Parade at 6.30pm tomorrow (October 23), starting from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza.

     The event will be officiated by the Chairlady of the Road Safety Campaign Publicity Strategy Working Group of the RSC, Ms Karin Wong; Member of the Road Safety Campaign Committee of the RSC Mr Tony Tsang; the Acting Chief Superintendent of Police, Deputy Regional Commander, Kowloon West, Hong Kong Police Force, Mr Chan Kwok-kee; the Regional Commander, Kowloon West, Road Safety Patrol, Mr Elkan Chan; the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po Road Safety Campaign Committee, Mr Cheng Muk-lam; the Chairlady of the Yau Tsim Mong Road Safety Campaign Organising Committee, Ms Kwan Sau-ling; the Vice Chairlady of the Kowloon City Road Safety Campaign Committee, Ms Lam Suet-mui; the Chairman of the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong, Mr Arthur Lai; the Chairman of the Hong Kong Harley Group, Mr Louis Fung; and the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Automobile Association, Mr Lee Yiu-pui.

     Classic cars and motorcycles will be exhibited at the starting venue from 5pm tomorrow. After a bus lighting ceremony and a music performance by the Police Silver Band, the guests will take an open-top bus through the Tsim Sha Tsui area to distribute road safety leaflets in order to deliver the "No Drug and No Drink Driving" message to road users.

     Members of the public are welcome to participate.
