The Chief Executive, in accordance with the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571), has re-appointed Mr Carlson Tong as Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) for a term of three years from October 20, 2015, to October 19, 2018.
Announcing the appointment today (October 2), the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, said, "Mr Tong has been Chairman of the SFC since October 2012. In the past three years, Mr Tong has led the SFC in setting its overall directions, policies and strategies, and has played a pivotal role in maintaining and promoting the fair, transparent and orderly operation of Hong Kong' securities and futures markets. We look forward to Mr Tong's continued contribution in the SFC."
Besides the Chairman, the SFC has seven Non-Executive Directors. They are Mr Albert Au Siu-cheung, Professor Leonard Cheng Kwok-hon, Ms Teresa Ko Yuk-yin, Mr Lawrence Lee Kam-hung, Ms Ma Xuezheng, Dr William Wong Ming-fung and Dr Kelvin Wong Tin-yau.
