The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will depart for Macau tomorrow morning (August 18) to attend the International Forum on Traditional Medicine.
The three-day forum, hosted by the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region and co-organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People's Republic of China, provides a platform for senior health officials from different places to exchange views on the development of traditional medicine and share experience in formulating the relevant policies.
Dr Ko will attend the opening ceremony of the forum, during which the Director-General of the WHO, Dr Margaret Chan, will deliver a keynote speech. Dr Ko will then speak at the High Level Meeting on "Implementation of WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-2023".
Accompanying Dr Ko to the forum will be the Director of Health, Dr Constance Chan, and the Director (Cluster Services) of the Hospital Authority, Dr Cheung Wai-lun.
Dr Ko will return to Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon.
