The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Food Expo 2013 will be held from August 15 to 19. Have you ever thought of showing support for the socially disadvantaged while enjoying delicacies?
The Home Affairs Department (HAD) has arranged for four social enterprises (SEs) under the Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership (ESR) Programme to take part in the coming Food Expo. Members of the public are invited to support the underprivileged to stay self-reliant by shopping at booths A18, A20, A22 and A24 of Public Hall 1E, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Expo Drive, Wan Chai, during the exhibition period.
Participating SEs will offer a variety of products, including healthy food and drinks as well as organic food products. Please refer to the Annex for details. People purchasing products at the SE booths may get a free souvenir. The HAD will also set up a booth there to provide information on SEs.
A spokesman for the HAD said today (August 13) the department has again arranged for SEs to participate in the Food Expo with a view to enhancing public awareness of SEs and encouraging more people to use their products and services.
The HKTDC Food Expo 2013 is open from 10am to 10pm from August 15 to 18, and open from 10am to 6pm on August 19. The admission fee is $25 and admission is free for children aged 3 or below and senior citizens aged 65 or above.
