Various Force formations including Special Duties Unit, Police Dog Unit and Police Tactical Unit, together with Recruit Police Constables, demonstrated their professionalism at the Commissioner of Police's Night of the Hong Kong Police Night for the Chest 2012 at the Hong Kong Police College today (November 24).
The main objective of the event is to raise funds for member social welfare agencies supported by The Community Chest of Hong Kong (the Chest). It also aims to demonstrate the Force's social responsibility and commitment to engage and serve the community.
Today's event also included thrilling performances by the Hong Kong Police Band, the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force Band and non-ethnic Chinese students from Yaumati Kaifong Association School.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Tsang Wai-hung, and some 870 guests attended the event.
To express thankfulness to their support and participation, Mr Tsang hosted a reception for District Fight Crime Committee Chairmen and members, Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents, major donors of the Police Welfare Fund and Committee Members of The Community Chest after the show.
Jointly organised by the Police and the Chest and under full sponsorship by the Bank of China Charitable Foundation, the Hong Kong Police Night for the Chest 2012, which comprised the Chief Executive's Night held yesterday and today's event, raised nearly $4 million.
