Auction for Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair stalls ends

     The two-day auction for stalls at the 2013 Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair concluded smoothly last night (October 25). The total revenue was $11,768,570 compared with $10,170,610 last year.

     A total of 474 stalls at the Fair, including 284 for dry goods, 179 for wet goods, eight for thematic dry goods and three for fast food, were successfully let out during the open auction at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

     The successful bids of the eight thematic dry goods stalls ranged from $60,100 to $90,300, with an average at $70,613, against an opening price of $33,550.

     For the dry goods stalls, the successful bid prices ranged from $12,000 to $150,000, which averaged out to $27,227, about 2.5 times of the opening price of $11,460.

     Yesterday's auction attracted around 2,500 participants.

     Auctions for stalls at the four Lunar New Year fairs in Kowloon will start next Monday (October 29) at the same venue.
