The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (October 9) visited Shenzhen to attend the 30th Anniversary Ceremony of Shenzhen River Regulation cum Stage IV Design Achievements Exhibition and paid a courtesy call on the Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Mr Wang Rong, and the Mayor of Shenzhen, Mr Xu Qin.
During the meeting with Mr Wang and Mr Xu, Mrs Lam expressed her gratitude to the Shenzhen Municipal Government for its support and co-operation on issues which have recently been of concern to Hong Kong people. These include arrangements to assist cross-border students in immigration clearance and joint enforcement efforts by Hong Kong and Shenzhen in combating parallel trade activities.
The Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, also joined in today's visit to Shenzhen.
