Looking for activities in the hot summer? Want to try some gourmet food? Or do you hope to show support for caring consumption? You can now satisfy all three wishes in one go by visiting the social enterprise (SE) booths at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Food Expo 2012 to be held from this Thursday (August 16) to next Monday (August 20).
The Home Affairs Department (HAD) has arranged for four SEs under the Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership (ESR) Programme to take part in the Food Expo. Members of the public are invited to visit booths D12 and D14 of Public Hall 1E, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Expo Drive, Wan Chai.
The four SEs will take turns to showcase their products including health food and drinks as well as organic farm products. Please refer to the Annex for details. People purchasing products at the SE booths can get a free souvenir. Next to the SE booths there will be a booth set up by the HAD promoting SEs as well.
A spokesman for the HAD said the department has arranged for SEs to participate in the Food Expo with a view to raising public awareness of SEs as well as encouraging more people to use their products and services.
