Tropical Storm Doksuri Roundup

     Hong Kong was spared of major damage during the passage of Tropical Storm Doksuri today (June 30).  As the storm is moving further away from the territory, the No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal was replaced by the No. 3 Strong Wind Signal at 3.25am.

     As at 3.25am, six departure and three arrival flights were delayed. One arrival and two departure cargo flights were cancelled. There was no diverted flight.

     A report of falling concrete from external wall at Shung Ling Street, San Po Kong was received by Buildings Department. No imminent danger was noted on site after inspection. A report of loose scaffolding and two reports of loose objects were also received.

     A total of 14 reports of fallen trees were received by Highways Department and Fire Services Department.

     The Home Affairs Department has opened 18 temporary shelters and up to 3.30 am, 75 people have sought refuge at the shelters.

     A 37-year-old woman sought medical treatment at public hospital and was later discharged. A 32-year-old man admitted to public hospital for minor injury was in stable condition.

     No case of flooding and landslide was reported.
