On media reports about the involvement of the Director of Audit (designate), Mr David Sun, in a case between Ernst & Young and Akai Holdings in 2009, Mr Sun noted today (June 28) that it was a civil litigation case which had concluded in 2009. In the course of the event, his professional conduct had not been called into question. The incident will not affect his work after he assumes his post on July 1.
Mr Sun said he attaches great importance to personal integrity and professional conduct. The work of the Audit Commission is of a high quality and there are established procedures to ensure that the Audit Reports are fair and equitable and that public money is well spent. He said that, with his knowledge and experience in the accounting field, he will work hand in hand with his civil service colleagues in an impartial manner.
