Film appreciation seminar this Saturday

     Co-organised by the Government Youth Portal (Youth.gov.hk) and the Academy of Film, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), the "Youth Inno-Action! HKBU Academy of Film Seeds Project" is now at the harvest stage. The "Youth Inno-Action! Awards Gala cum Film Appreciation Seminar" will be held this Saturday (May 19) and all secondary and tertiary students are welcome to join. Details of the event are as follows:

* Film Screening (excerpts): "Echoes of the Rainbow"
* Student Film Screening: "Leng Leng" and "Twenty Dollars" (award-winning films at the Ninth Global Chinese Universities Student Film and Television Festival Awards)
* Sharing by renowned film critic and creative media workers
* Awards Gala for the Digital Short Video Competition 2012
* Guests include Alex Law, Eric Kot, Liu Kai-chi, Raymond Wong, John Chong, Vincent Chui, Poon Hung-yiu, Dominic Yip, Yip Chee-tim, Dominica Siu, Tong Kay-ming, Freddie Wong, Sobel Chan and Jerry Liu

     All 54 entries in the Digital Short Video Competition produced by secondary students have been made available for viewing on the Internet. Members of the public can vote for their favourite digital video via www.youth.gov.hk/en/special/innoaction/index.htm. The public polling will end at noon on May 18 (Friday).

     The "Youth Inno-Action! HKBU Academy of Film Seeds Project" is co-organised by Youth.gov.hk and the Academy of Film, HKBU, and sponsored by Create Hong Kong. The project commenced in November 2011 with a mission to provide local youth with a platform for exchange and professional training in five areas including directing, cinematography and lighting, sound recording, post-production and scriptwriting. Under this project, 19 sessions of creative seminars and technical workshops were conducted, attracting the participation of over 100 secondary schools.

     Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region provides funding support to the project only, and does not otherwise take part in the project.
