Proposed retrofitting of lifts at footbridge near Fung Shing Court, Sha Tin gazetted

     The Government published a Gazette notice today (August 26) on the proposed retrofitting of lifts at the footbridge across Lion Rock Tunnel Road near Fung Shing Court, Sha Tin, aiming to provide barrier-free access facilities.

     Proposed works include:

(i) construction of two lifts, one at the northern side of the footbridge and one at the southern side of the footbridge;

(ii) construction of elevated platforms connecting the two lifts in (i) to the existing footbridge;

(iii) conversion of sections of the existing planting area and part of the slope into footpaths; and

(iv) ancillary works including drainage, lighting and electrical and mechanical works.

     The work is expected to commence in mid 2012 and will take about 24 months to complete.

     The plan and scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or their use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before October 25.
