Police today (August 19) appealed for information on a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po on July 28 in which a 63-year-old man was killed.
At 11am on July 28, a taxi driven by a 63-year-old man was travelling along the first lane of Nam Wan Road towards Wan Tau Tong Estate direction. When approaching the junction with Tat Wan Road, the taxi reportedly avoided collision with an unknown white private car which allegedly drove from the second lane into the first lane on Nam Wan Road. The taxi swerved to the nearside and rammed into the railings.
The taxi driver sustained no superficial injury and was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in conscious state. He was certified dead in the hospital at 10.24pm on August 10.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are under way.
