The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, meets Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Mr Shang Fulin, in Beijing this morning (December 22). At the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen the co-operation of the stock exchanges of the two places, explore areas for technical collaboration of their computer systems, and strive for the early implementation of exchange-traded funds (ETF). They also agreed to further develop the Renminbi bond market in Hong Kong and support Mainland enterprises to issue bonds in Hong Kong. Mr Tsang thanked Mr Shang for accepting the invitation to attend the Asian Financial Forum to be held in Hong Kong next month.
