The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in November showed a decrease of 949 cases over October, representing a decrease of 0.3%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (December 22).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of November stood at
283,879 (see attached table), with a total of 467,067 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.5% to 30,206 cases, while low earnings cases showed a decrease of 0.6% to 14,526 cases.
Single parent cases and ill health cases also registered a decrease of 0.7% and 0.2% respectively to 34,561 and 25,258 cases.
Old age cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.1% to 153,681 cases.
