The Leisure and Cultural Services Department today (December 17) announced the special opening hours for its museums and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
On Christmas Eve (December 24), Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Space Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Museum of History, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Hong Kong Film Archive and Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre will close at 5pm.
On Christmas Day (December 25), Boxing Day (December 26) and New Year's day (January 1, 2011), Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Space Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Museum of History, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre and Hong Kong Film Archive will open as usual. However, Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum, Hong Kong Railway Museum, Sam Tung Uk Museum, Sheung Yiu Folk Museum and Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre will be closed on these three days.
The Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre will also close at 5pm on the Winter Solstice (December 22) and New Year's Eve (December 31).
