The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, visited Kwun Tong this afternoon (November 22). During his tour, Mr Lee paid a visit to a public housing estate tenant and a social enterprise store, and also exchanged views with District Councillors on the law and order situation in the district.

Accompanied by Kwun Tong District Officer Mr Au Hing-yuen, Mr Lee visited a family living at Choi Ying Estate, which was built two years ago. Mr Lee chatted with family members to learn about their daily life, especially their views regarding law and order matters in the area.

Mr Lee then visited the Kwun Tong Community Sales Outlet ¡ª a social enterprise store operated by Christian Action. The enterprise, funded by the Home Affairs Department's "Enhancing Self-Reliance Through Partnership Programme", provides job opportunities for people with low education or income levels, and new arrivals. Goods sold at the shop are from donors and recycling activities.

Mr Lee took the opportunity to talk to frontline staff and listened to their "ups and downs" in running the store. He also chatted with the customers and was pleased to learn that they supported social enterprise.

Mr Lee then proceeded to Kwun Tong Promenade Stage 1, which was opened to the public early this year. Located at Hoi Bun Road, the promenade provides various facilities for the public, including a children's playground, a multi-purpose plaza and a seaside timber boardwalk. The 200-metre promenade provides an open space for the public to relax and enjoy magnificent views of the Victoria Harbour.

Lastly, Mr Lee met with Kwun Tong District Councillors and exchanged views on local law and order and community issues.
