"UG Day 2010" this Sunday at Central welcomes all

     The public can enjoy the performances of 11 local Youth Uniformed Groups (UGs) under one roof at the "UG Day 2010" to be held at the Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct in Central this Sunday (November 21).

     Jointly organised by the Home Affairs Bureau, the Commission on Youth and 11 UGs, the event aims to enhance the public's understanding of UGs in Hong Kong, encourage youngsters to participate in UGs, display team spirit and promote the value of serving others in the community.

     The event will be held from 11am to 5pm. Admission is free of charge. A variety of performances including live music (musical instruments), singing, dancing, artistic cycling and rope skipping, as well as first-aid demonstration will be staged. A ceremony featuring a parade and band show will be held at 3pm.

     A number of games booths will be set up by individual UGs, and free health checks and consultations will be offered to participants.

     The co-organisers of "UG Day 2010" are: Scout Association of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Red Cross, Hong Kong St John Ambulance Brigade Cadet Command, the Girls' Brigade Hong Kong, Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association, Hong Kong Road Safety Association, Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps, Hong Kong Adventure Corps, the Boys' Brigade Hong Kong, and the Civil Aid Service Cadet Corps.
