Auction for Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair stalls ends

     The two-day auction for stalls at the 2011 Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair in Eastern District concluded smoothly today (November 16). A total revenue of $9,633,740 was brought, compared with $11,169,140 last year.

     A total of 444 stalls at the Fair, including 256 for dry goods, 177 for wet goods, eight for thematic dry goods and three for fast food, were successfully let out during the open auction at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

     The successful bids of the eight thematic dry goods stalls ranged from $38,000 to $41,000, with an average at $40,000, against an opening price of $30,690.

     For the dry goods stalls, the successful bid prices ranged from $10,490 to $63,600, with an average at $21,846, which is about two times of the opening price of $10,490.

     Today's auction attracted around 1,800 participants.

     Auctions for stalls at the four Lunar New Year fairs in Kowloon will start tomorrow (November 17).
