The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng, accompanied by Inspector Mr Martin Boorman, yesterday (November 11, Melbourne time) observes how the Victoria Police enforce drug driving legislation. The Victoria Police adopt a three-stage process - roadside screen, second sample screen, and laboratory confirmation, to enforce the legislation. Ms Cheng was told that impairment tests were required to be carried out in a controlled environment and suspected drug drivers were therefore brought back to the police station for the tests. Picture shows Ms Cheng being briefed by Inspector Boorman at an on-site roadside operation.
