Works on reduction in coverage of Frontier Closed Area gazetted

     The Government published in the Gazette today (May 14) a notice on works for "Construction of a Secondary Boundary Fence and New Sections of Primary Boundary Fence and Boundary Patrol Road - Phase 2" (Section from Ng Tung River to Ping Yuen River and Section from Pak Fu Shan to Lin Ma Hang), which aimed to reduce in coverage of the Frontier Closed Area.

     The proposed works include construction of a new boundary patrol road of approximately 800 metres long; installation of boundary fences along the existing and new boundary patrol road; and ancillary works including geotechnical, landscaping and drainage works.

     The plans and scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

(i)  Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;

(ii)  North District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, North District Government Offices, 3 Pik Fung Road, Fanling; and

(iii) District Land Office, North, 6th Floor,North District Government Offices, 3 Pik Fung Road, Fanling.

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before July 13.
