Sham Shui Po food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Sham Shui Po to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The restaurant (¸»¹ð·»²ÍÌü), at No. 236, ground floor, Tung Chau Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (January 14) to January 27.

     "In December 2008 and October 2009, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

     "A total fine of $5,500 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

     He said the food premises also had convictions in July and December 2008 for the same offences.

     "A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from June 25 to July 1 last year," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
