TV special to showcase Hong Kong logistics industry

    A two-episode TV programme to update the public on Hong Kong's logistics industry will be broadcast on ATV-Home this Saturday (May 3) and next Saturday((May 10).

    The Chinese-language programme, sponsored by the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, will show how much Hong Kong's quality of life depends on logistics and where Hong Kong's strengths lie as Asia's logistics hub.

    Viewers will have the opportunity to take an insider's look at the supply chain management which ensures perfectly-timed delivery of fresh produce for daily consumption, as well as the expert handling of the transportation of fine art. 

    The programme will also demonstrate the new and locally developed On-board Trucker Information System which will improve the management of trucking fleets, and how Radio Frequency Identification technology enables the tracking of goods in transit.

    With the assistance of key industry players, the programme offers an interesting behind-the-scenes look at logistics operations at the Hong Kong International Airport, SuperTerminal 1 and the Kwai Tsing Container Terminals.

    The programme will be broadcast on ATV-Home from 7.30pm to 8pm on May 3 and May 10. 

    One-minute highlights from the programme will be broadcast on the same channel about 7.59pm daily from May 19-23.
