************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Kwun Tong to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, on ground floor, 363 Ngau Tau Kok Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (April 28) to May 11, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In June last year and January this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the premises.

"A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He said the restaurant also had convictions in March and May last year for preparation of food in open space.

"A total fine of $5,400 was levied and 15 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from July 17 to 23 last year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
