Man jailed for criminal intimidation of public officer

    A man was sentenced by the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today (March 28) to four weeks' imprisonment for intimidating a public officer.

    The incident took place on January 14 when a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department officer was checking whether an unlicensed food premises in the rear lane of 162 Portland Street, Mong Kok, was open for business.

    "Criminal intimidation is not only wrong, but also carries legal consequences," a department spokesman said.

    He urged the public to co-operate with law enforcement officers in the execution of their duties.
