Government House opens to the public on March 9
***********************************************

People will have the chance to visit Government House next Sunday (March 9). Visitors will be able to see the places where the Chief Executive holds important official functions and receives dignitaries. They can also take a stroll in the garden to admire the blossoming azaleas and other plants.

"Government House will be open from 10am to 5pm on March 9. It is open to the public twice a year. The previous open day on November 11 last year attracted about 5,000 visitors," a government spokesman said.

The spokesman appealed to visitors to make full use of public transport. They are requested to enter the garden by the east gate at Upper Albert Road and leave by the main gate. Depending on the length of the queue, the Police may announce a cut-off time for lining up outside Government House to ensure that those in the queue can be admitted in time.
