The monthly honorarium of the Convenor and other Non-Official Members of the Executive Council (ExCo) will be restored to its original level, i.e. $100,030 and $62,470 respectively, starting January 1, 2008.
"To demonstrate their readiness to share the financial hardship with the community at a time of severe economic downturn in 2003, Non-Official ExCo Members took the initiative to reduce their monthly honorarium by 10% since April that year. With effect from January 1, 2008, the honorarium of Non-Official Members will be restored to its original level," a spokesman for the ExCo Secretariat said.
