Employer ordered to pay MPF non-payment

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (May 17) obtained an order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions of about $230,000 against an employer in the District Court.
The District Court today issued a judgement against Kingsland Engineering Co. Limited. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA $239,014.23, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to three employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court further ordered the defendant to pay $930 as the cost in respect of the claim.
