SFST to lead financial delegation to Beijing
********************************************

A high-level financial services delegation led by the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Frederick Ma, will visit Beijing this week to promote Hong Kong's financial services and explore further opportunities to enhance mutual economic co-operation.

The itinerary includes a forum and a visit programme.

The more-than-100-strong delegation comprises heavyweights from various sectors of Hong Kong's financial services industry, including commercial and investment banking, venture capital and private equity, securities, fund management, insurance, and financial intermediaries.

Representatives of the financial regulators, including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), the Securities and Futures Commission and the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance will also join the visit to explore opportunities for further co-operation with their Mainland counterparts.

During the visit, the delegation will attend the "Beijing-Hong Kong Financial Services Co-operation Forum" co-organised by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government on Thursday (May 17).

At the forum, the HKEx will introduce to participants Hong Kong's securities market and listing requirements, and encourage them to make use of Hong Kong as a platform for capital raising and investments.

Besides attending the forum, the delegation will visit Zhongguancun Science Park and the China Beijing Equity Exchange on Friday (May 18).
