The Consultative Committee on the Core Arts and Cultural Facilities of the West Kowloon Cultural District discussed the financial assessments on the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) project made by its Financial Matters Advisory Group (FMAG) at a meeting today (May 14).
With the professional assistance of the financial adviser appointed by the Government, the FMAG has thoroughly examined the financial implications of the arts and cultural facilities in the WKCD as recommended by the Performing Arts and Tourism Advisory Group (PATAG) and the Museums Advisory Group (MAG). The Consultative Committee was also briefed on a report made by the Government Economist on the economic impact of the WKCD project.
The Consultative Committee had a detailed discussion on the FMAG report and will later hold a meeting again to consolidate the recommendations and results of relevant studies submitted by the three advisory groups. A report will be submitted to the Chief Executive before the term of the Consultative Committee expires on June 30.
The Consultative Committee and its advisory groups - the PATAG, MAG and FMAG, were set up in April, 2006, to re-examine the need for the core arts and cultural facilities in the WKCD.
