Lots of people enjoyed a happy Mother's Day today (May 13) by visiting an exhibition of 36 valuable collectors cars and enjoy a host of free entertaining programmes with their family members at West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade.

Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, co-organised by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office and supported by the Collectors Car Club of Hong Kong, the carnival provided an array of programmes and the club exhibited the vintage and valuable cars.

The cars on display included a 1926 Rolls Royce Phantom I and 1924 Vauxhall 14_40, 1950 Bentley Mark VI, 1957 Austin Healey, 1961 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II, 1966 Porsche 911 (1st series of 911), 1972 Mini Pick-up, 1975 Diamler Limousine, Ferrari 512 TR and Jaguar XJS-V12. Ranging from elegant vintage cars to classic sports cars, they are all the favourite treasures of the collectors.

Other entertaining programmes of the carnival included cycling performances, trampoline games, games stalls, variety show and clown performances. People also enjoyed cycling by using the bicycle rental facilities recently arranged at the promenade.

The promenade is open from 6am to 11pm daily. West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade has two entrances - the eastern entrance at the junction of Austin Road West and Nga Cheung Road, Tsim Sha Tsui and the western entrance at the Kowloon-side exit of Western Harbour Crossing. The promenade is equipped with a metered carpark which provides 30 private car parking spaces and two coach parking spaces near the eastern entrance of the promenade.
