Government House open to the public on March 11
***********************************************

The public will have an opportunity on March 11 (Sunday) to visit Government House and admire the springtime flowers in bloom.

"On March 11, Government House will be open from 10am to 5pm. Visitors can take a stroll in the garden to admire the blossoming azaleas and other flourishing plants, and also see the places where the Chief Executive holds important official functions and receives dignitaries," a government spokesman said.

"Government House is open to the public twice a year. The previous open day on November 12 last year attracted more than 3,000 visitors," he said.

The spokesman appealed to visitors to make full use of public transport. Visitors are requested to enter the garden by the east gate at Upper Albert Road and leave by the main gate. Depending on the length of the queue, the Police may announce a cut-off time for lining up outside Government House to ensure that those in the queue can be admitted in time.
