Yuen Long restaurant ordered to suspend business
************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at Shop 26 and 38, ground floor, Fu Loy Garden, 7 Ma Wang Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (February 19) to March 4, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In June and September last year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the said food premises.

"A total fine of $15,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He added that there were also two convictions of the same offence regarding the same restaurant in June last year.

"A total fine of $15,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from October 17 to 23 last year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
