Spectacular lantern displays on show at Hong Kong Cultural Centre and West Kowloon Waterfront (with photos)
***********************************************************

Two spectacular lantern displays entitled "Rendezvous in Glittering Metropolis" and "Romance in Fairy Tales" light up Hong Kong Cultural Centre and West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade respectively in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Rendezvous in Glittering Metropolis" runs until March 18 while "Romance in Fairy Tales" runs until February 25, adding colour to the festive season.

Inspired by the famous Chinese painting "Qingming Shang He Tu", "Rendezvous in Glittering Metropolis" depicts the hustle and bustle of ancient Chinese city. Apart from boats, bridge and tower gate, there are workers, traders, hawkers and city dwellers who are busy with their daily lives. The spectacular lanterns not only light up the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, but also symbolise the metropolitan and prosperous scenes of Hong Kong.

At West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, "Romance in Fairy Tales" features a five-metre high castle, pairs of lovely bears, heart-shaped balloons and a garden of fluttering butterflies, leading visitors to a dreamland of love and romance.
